What Is Coaching
What is coaching?
Coaching is a co-creative relationship that assists people in prioritizing and accomplishing their life goals, finding balance, and fulfilling their life’s purpose.
Once a way to catapult business executives and professional athletes to the pinnacle of success, coaching has found an important niche in the everyday lives of ordinary people like you and me. In fact, ordinary people are discovering how extraordinary they really are through the coaching process! You may be asking yourself how you could benefit from coaching. You may be dissatisfied with your career or relationship or just need someone to explore with you what you want and how to take your life to the next level. On a deeper level you may really need support in finding what you are passionate about and in clarifying your life’s purpose. Once you are clear on your core values, you will be supported in making the best life decisions that will make the most positive difference in your life and in serving humanity.
Whatever the reason, the best coach for you will truly believe in you and intuitively know how to acknowledge your unique gifts and talents that will propel you forward to living fully and achieving your highest aspirations. Personal growth is a positively rewarding, yet sometimes difficult process. Just when you have faith that what you are focusing on is starting to materialize, internal or external obstacles may show preventing you from achieving your goals. It is the coach’s job to ask powerful questions to uncover hidden barriers that prevent you (the client) from actualizing your true potential. This inquiry process taps into your inner wisdom that guides you to the answers that will be most fulfilling for you.
The truth is that you are already creative, resourceful and a whole human being. When you believe that is true in the deepest core of your being, you will begin operating from that level, naturally and powerfully choosing the appropriate action steps necessary to fulfill on your dreams. Another wonderful benefit of coaching is its continual emphasis on balancing your life. Even when people love their work, they may believe that being successful means sacrificing free time or a happy relationship. This may be the way our parents or corporate structures operate, but it doesn’t lend itself to successful people feeling really fulfilled with themselves and their lives. With all the conflicting demands on us, it’s no wonder we find ourselves exhausted or burned out.
Coaching involves continually assessing your personal “Circle of Life,” which are those important areas of your life you need more balance in: Health, Relationships, Romance, Family, Friends, Fun, Career, Money, Personal or Work Environment, Personal Growth, and Spirituality. Being in balance provides you with more energy and the inspiration to live more fully and successfully.
